Experience
As an Army wife, I have had the great pleasure of teaching in many settings and in many states during the 20 years that I have been in the classroom. This has allowed me to work with students in many different backgrounds and settings. I have taught students in grades PK through 12. In two of the elementary schools in which I taught, I was named "Teacher of the Year". I am currently working with students at the high school level. I have had extensive training in varied instructional techniques and interventions with students in all grades. I have had great success in working with struggling readers to improve phonemic awareness, fluency and comprehension. I have taught math to students using various hands-on approaches in addition to the traditional paper-pencil approaches. I received my Bachelors of Science from Kutztown University in the areas of Elementary Education as well as Special Education. I received my Masters of Art from Nova Southeastern University in the area of Special Education. I attended Western Kentucky University where I received my Rank I in the area of Educational Leadership with a certificate in Director of Special Education. Most recently, I received my PhD. from Capella University in Education with a specialization the area of Curriculum and Instruction.
